John Stanhope – Independent chair
John’s experience has covered many areas including finance, treasury, taxation, risk management and assurance, investor relations, corporate security and investigations, directorships on various boards of Telstra Corporation’s national and international subsidiary companies, and membership of industry and government committees.
Leisel Moorhead – QIC
Leisel joined QIC Global Infrastructure in January 2008. Leisel leads the asset management function across the transport sector in QIC portfolio and has primary responsibility for environmental, social and governance matters for the QIC portfolio assets.
Stasha Prnjatovic – OMERS Infrastructure
Stasha is a Director for OMERS Infrastructure and in this role she leads asset management efforts in the Asia-Pacific region. In addition to sitting on the Board of PoM, Stasha also sits on the board of TransGrid.
Simon Palagyi – OMERS Infrastructure
Simon is a Director for OMERS Infrastructure. He joined OMERS in May 2017, and is responsible for a range of infrastructure investment origination and asset management activities in Australia. In addition to Port of Melbourne’s Board of Directors, Simon also sits on the Board of the Transgrid Asset Trust. He previously served as a director on the Board of LifeLabs Management Inc., Canada’s largest community laboratory business.
James White – Future Fund
James is a Director in Future Fund’s Infrastructure and Timberland team. James joined Future Fund in 2010 and has been involved in the investment and management of the infrastructure and timberland portfolio, including representing Future Fund on the boards of a number of portfolio companies.
Robert Nicholson – Future Fund
Robert has worked extensively in the infrastructure and energy fields. His experience includes mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets, funds management, greenfield projects, risk and governance. He is a director of Alinta Energy Pty Ltd, Nucleus Network (Australia’s leading clinical trials company), Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute and Landcare Australia. He is a Senior Advisor with Herbert Smith Freehills, where he served as a partner for 28 years and as a director and chair.
Russell Smith – Global Infrastructure Partners Australia Fund
Russell has over 30 years’ experience in the transport infrastructure sector. Prior to GIP, Russell was the CEO of the Port of Brisbane and before that he had responsibility for Prime and then Brookfield’s transport infrastructure portfolio, together encompassing 21 ports globally and over 5,000 km of railway. As well as his role on the Board of PoM, Russell is currently Chair of Australia’s largest rail company, Pacific National.
Veeral Kanji – Global Infrastructure Partners Australia Fund
Veeral joined GIP at its inception in 2006 at GIP’s London office and has worked on a number of GIP’s investments throughout his time in London and since transferring to GIP’s Sydney office in 2015.

Matina co-founded QIC Global Infrastructure in early 2006. She has 30 years of extensive funds management and investment experience in infrastructure. She has been a director on various infrastructure boards for over 20 years.
Robert Stewart – Global Infrastructure Partners Australia Fund
Robert is a GIP Partner and the Managing Partner of GIP Australia. Prior to GIP, Robert was the Chief Executive Officer of Credit Suisse in Australia and has over 25 years’ of investment banking experience on a broad range of financing and strategic advisory assignments including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and financings.
Christopher Curtain – OMERS Infrastructure
Christopher is a Senior Managing Director for OMERS Infrastructure. In this role, Christopher leads the Asia-Pacific region, including teams based in Sydney and Singapore focused on the pursuit and management of investments in high quality infrastructure assets. In addition to sitting on the Board of PoM, Christopher also sits on the board of TransGrid.
